Workshops Offered
Practical (Basic) Hydraulics Workshop (5-day/40 hours) - ($1395.00)

The following topics are covered in this 5-day, hands-on workshop:
• How To Work Safely with Hydraulics - the foundation of this dynamic workshop - SAFETY!
• Basic Fluid Power Principles and Laws - the basis for understanding engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• How To Read Hydraulic Schematics (ANSI/ISO symbols) - You WILL know how to read hydraulic schematics when you leave this workshop.
• Hydraulic Pumps - Fixed; variable; pressure-compensated; load-sensing; overcenter - how to setup and adjust.
• Pressure Control Valves - Pressure relief; sequence; counterbalance; unloading; pressure-reducing; pilot-operated - how to setup and adjust, field repair procedures.
• Directional Control Valves - Single-stage; two-stage; standardization; proportional; power-beyond; mobile and industrial - field repair procedures.
• Check Valves - Pilot-operated; shuttle; rectifier.
• Flow Control Valves - Non-compensated; pressure-compensated; temperature-compensated; meter-in; meter-out; bypass.
• Actuators - Cylinders; cushions; motors.
• Accumulators - Piston type; bladder type; diaphragm type; how to precharge and service.
• Contamination Control - How to target a cleanliness level and achieve predictable performance in hydraulic components thereby virtually eliminating hydraulic system downtime; ISO 4406 and Beta ratios.
• Proactive Maintenance - How to implement a 10-point, hands-off, proactive maintenance program for a hydraulic system.
• Closed-Loop (Hydrostatics) - How they work; how to maintain them; how to startup, service, and adjust them; how to conduct minor field repairs.
• And much, much more!

Troubleshooting Hydraulic Systems and Components Workshop (5-day/40 hours) - ($1495.00)

The following topics are covered in this 5-day, hands-on workshop:
• Safety! The basis of every Fluid Power Training Institute™ workshop.
• Lockout with an emphasis on how to safely de-energize and verify de-energization of a hydraulic system.
• Diagnostic Instrumentation - What instruments you need to execute tests safely and effectively, and how to construct simple, inexpensive test apparatus.
• How to Troubleshoot Hydraulic Pumps - Internally drained, externally drained, in-circuit, and direct-access.
• How to Troubleshoot Pressure Control Valves - Pressure relief, sequence, counterbalance, unloading, pressure reducing, and pilot-operated. Also integral cross-port relief valves, and cartridge valves.
• Directional Control Valves - Industrial and solenoid-operated, mobile hand-lever. Cross-port leakage detection, and how to pinpoint leakage paths in stacked valves (circuit modules), and mobile valve with integral cylinder-port relief and/or anti-cavitation valves.
• Hydraulic Cylinders - End-stroke testing for seal leakage detection, intermediate bore and through-stroke testing for bore damage/wear detection.
• Hydraulic Motors - Internal drained and external drain, in-circuit and direct access, and, high-torque, low-speed.
• Check Valves - conventional and pilot-operated.
• How to Select a First Class Rebuild Facility - Don’t let the fact that a rebuild center has no pride, be the reason why your components fail prematurely.
